Carmel is the CEO/President of Carmel Stevens Insurance and Financial Service, Inc. and has 29 years of experience providing Insurance and Financial Service Products to California. He began his agency career in January, 1992 in Los Angeles, CA and he has been a consistent Chairman’s Circle qualifier, President’s Club qualifier, Crystal Excellence qualifier, Golden Triangle qualifier, Ambassador qualifier, National Achievement Award qualifier, National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors qualifier, and National Multiline Award qualifier.

CHIEF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION OFFICER

Karmel is a 2020 college graduate of The New School in New York City where she received a BA in Film Studies. Karmel has always had a passion for equality and a personal drive to create inclusive spaces and that has been evident in her past work as a Producer and Creative Director in New York City’s entertainment industry. As a world-traveler growing up in a primarily African American community, promoting diversity throughout the work force has always been at the forefront of Karmel’s priorities throughout her career.

DIRECTOR OF COMPLIANCE

Karen has over 20 years’ experience providing real estate management and consulting services to national and private asset/property management companies and developers. Her expertise is in providing consulting services in development, acquisition, investment, and disposition of commercial real estate assets, where she’s led leadership training and strategic planning courses and has an extensive knowledge of lease negotiations, financial reporting, managing and executing assets on behalf of institutional clients, privately held trusts, and partnerships. Ms. Mayer was the 3rd Asset Manager in over 50 years for one of the largest privately held real estate firms in California, Black Equities where her portfolio was in excess of 10 million square feet. She was an Asset Manager for a, REIT, Kilroy Realty Corporation and she served as Director of Asset Management for EPWALC where she co-led the investment and development team for mixed-use properties totaling $500 million in project costs. Ms. Mayer was awarded the prestigious award of excellence by Goldman Sachs for her outstanding performance on their White Hall funds as well as superior client satisfaction for the La Salle Investment Management portfolio.
